Montgomery Reef lies within the Camden Sound Marine Park and is the world’s largest inshore reef covering about four hundred square kilometres. The reef has an unusual tide variation, the difference between high and low tides being up to ten metres. The reef is home to a large variety of bird and marine life, many of which are stranded on the reef when the tide recedes.
